Austrians to Bring Urals Diesel Engines up to European Standards14.04.2009 — News THE SVERDLOVSK OBLAST. The Austrians will bring diesel engines made in the Urals up to European standards. OOO Ural Diesel Engine Plant and AVL List GmbH, an Austrian engineering company, have signed the agreement on the joint work on the upgrade of the 8DM21 power unit. RusBusinessNews was informed at the plant that AVL is studying individual parameters of the engine operation and optimising the engine's work at the design stage. The company will bring the Urals diesel engine up to the European standards for railway locomotives. OOO Ural Diesel Engine Plant is a part of ZAO Sinara Group, a diversified company that includes a couple of dozen of companies working in various industries. The engines made by the plant are used as power units for diesel shunters produced by OAO Lyudinovo Diesel Locomotive Plant. |
