UralVagonZavod commences supplying gondola cars to UCL Holding

The Research & Production Corporation UralVagonZavod has supplied its first 50 gondola cars, 12-196-01 Type, to the Universal Cargo Logistics Holding. By March 2012, the customer will receive 3,000 gondola cars of this type and will lease them to the Independent Transportation Company.

The corporation's Press Service has informed "RusBusinessNews" that the 12-196-01 gondola car is one of the latest design projects of the Ural Design Railcar Building Bureau (a business unit of UralVagonZavod). The volume of the reinforced body is 88 cubic meters; the load-carrying capacity is 75 tons; the distance run between overhauls is 250,000 kilometers. The guaranteed service life is 4 years or 500,000 kilometers.
