Finnish Business Looking for Partnership in Siberia14.04.2009 — News THE TYUMEN OBLAST. Representatives of several Finnish companies looking for business partners in Siberia will visit the Tyumen Oblast on 8-11 June 2009. RusBusinessNews was informed by the Finnish-Russian Chamber of Commerce that the guests will see the operations of OOO LUKOIL-West Siberia, OAO Sibneftegazmash Plant, ZAO NPP Sibburmash, and OAO Zavod Nefteprommash. The Finnish businessmen will also visit Ishim where they will be presented with various opportunities at OAO Ishim Machine Building Plant and OAO Ishim Mechanical Plant. Finland takes third place amongst the foreign trade partners of the Tyumen Oblast, after Italy and Turkey. Cooperation with Suomi in the sphere of forestry management and timber industry is most promising for the region. In 2006 the Tyumen Oblast Government commissioned, and the Pöyry Forest Industry Consulting Oy Jaakko Pöyry Consulting company developed, the development strategy for this sector. Projects that have been planned within the framework of this strategy provide for the production of chipboard, MDF, dried coniferous timber, the construction of a plywood production plant with the annual capacity of 100 thousand cubic metres, and the launch of an OSB (Oriented Strand Board) production plant. |
