Uralvagonzavod completed upgrading its forging operations

The Uralvagonzavod Research and Production Corporation has completed upgrading its drop forging operations. Three forging lines are equipped with hydraulic hammers manufactured by the German company LASCO. The Czech export bank granted the corporation a loan in the amount of 250 million rubles for purchasing of equipment. Since 2008, the central factory, located in Nizhny Tagil, has acquired three hydraulic hammers of different impact force that allow manufacturing parts within the range from 0.5 to 45 kilograms.

The representatives of the Press Service of the corporation have informed "RusBusinessNews" that the forging product range includes more than 5,000 billets. Up to 70% of the manufactured products are used in rail car production, while the remaining part is used for road-building, municipal and special-purpose machinery and equipment.

The new equipment has increased the quality of products and will allow Uralvagonzavod to save up to 20 million rubles a year on energy costs.
