UGMK is increasing the copper ore output to 1 million tons in the Orenburg Region21.06.2011 — News ORENBURG REGION. The Ural Mining and Metallurgical Company (UGMK) has commenced development of the Levoberezhnoye copper and pyrite deposit in the Orenburg Region. Its expected reserves total 1.862 million tons of ore (ore content - 72.3 thousand tons). Due to this new source of raw materials, UGMK will be able to boost its open mining of copper ore in this region up to 1 million tons a year. In future, the company intends to develop another two deposits in the Orenburg region, increasing the annual output up to 1.5 million tons of ore. The UGMK Press-Service informed "RusBusinessNews" that Levoberezhnoye would be developed by the Gaisky Mining and Processing Integrated Works - a structural subdivision of the company. By the end of 2011, the company intends to produce 150 tons of ore. In future, the annual ore output will reach approximately 300 thousand tons. |
