Karabashmed increased its copper output by 19%27.09.2011 — News CHELYABINSK REGION. In January-September 2011, the blister copper output at Karabashmed, CJSC, (a member of the Russian Copper Company, CJSC) reached 53.98 thousand tons, thus exceeding by 19% the level of the similar period in 2010. The Press Service of the Russian Copper Company has informed RusBusinessNews that by December 2013 Karabashmed will complete the renovation of its production facilities and will commission the second sulfuric acid production facility. The company will be able to increase its annual output of blister copper and sulfuric acid to 120 thousand tons and to 650 thousand tons respectively. Since 2003, due to modernization, the output of the company has doubled. At the same time, air emissions have decreased six times. The Russian Copper Company is the third largest refined copper producer in Russia. It includes mining, processing and metallurgical factories located in five regions in Russia and in the Republic of Kazakhstan. The RCC factories produce 200 thousand tons of copper cathodes and 200 thousand tons of copper rod per year. |
