VSMPO-AVISMA extends the range of products supplied to Boeing17.10.2011 — News SVERDLOVSK REGION. The joint venture - Ural Boeing Manufacturing (UBM) - has manufactured the first batch of beams for the main landing gear of the Boeing 737 Next-Generation aircraft. The titanium forgings made by the VSMPO-AVISMA Corporation went through primary machining and were delivered to the Boeing factory in Portland for final machining. UBM was opened by the VSMPO-AVISMA Corporation and Boeing on a parity basis in Verkhnyaya Salda two years ago. The core business of the enterprise is production of machined titanium forgings for Boeing 787 Dreamliner. The next stage involved the production of beams for Boeing 737 NG, i.e. main components of the wing structure supporting the landing gear bearing assembly. The VSMPO-AVISMA Corporation press service has informed RusBusinessNews that the first contract between VSMPO-AVISMA and Boeing was signed in 1997. Since then the Russian corporation has been the major supplier of forgings and titanium parts for the American company. In the next 30 years Boeing intends to implement projects in Russia for the total amount of 27 billion US dollars. Two thirds of this amount will be allocated for purchasing of titanium products. |
