RCC is installing a crusher from Metso Minerals at its mine at the Mikheevsky mining and processing facility13.12.2011 — News CHELYABINSK REGION. In the fourth quarter of 2012 the Metso Minerals company will supply Russian Copper Company with a gyratory crusher for primary ore crushing. This equipment, capable of processing 4,000 tons of ore per hour, will be installed in an open-pit mine at the Mikheevsky mining and processing facility, CJSC. RCC's press office told RusBusinessNews that no other Russian nonferrous metals company uses such a high-capacity crusher. The specialists decided to locate the crusher's receiving bin at an elevation of 250 meters and the main conveyor belt at the horizon at 220 meters. Ore will drop from the crusher onto the main conveyor belt, which will take it to the processing plant, thus avoiding the need to be transported by dump truck. The equipment will be delivered after the completion of the capital-development work at the Mikheevsky mining and processing facility, CJSC. The crusher should be operating by the end of 2013. The construction of a mining and processing facility for the Mikheevskoe copper-porphyry ore deposit is a project of national significance. It will be the biggest facility of that type to be built from scratch anywhere in the former Soviet Union. Total investment in the project will come to about $650 million.
