UVZ got 90 billion rubles in revenues in 2011

In 2011, revenues at Uralvagonzavod research and production corporation, OJSC increased to 90 billion rubles, with a net profit of up to 10 billion rubles.

Vladimir Shmakov, the first deputy general director of UVZ, told RusBusinessNews that in 2011 the corporation fulfilled 18 military contracts for the Russian government worth 8.2 billion rubles, and there are plans to supply even more products to the armed forces next year.

In 2011, Uralvagonzavod, which is headquartered in Nizhny Tagil, broke the old record for railroad-car production, which had been set during the Soviet period. In December the company assembled its 25,000th railroad car.

Uralvagonzavod has successfully landed contracts for 2012, including one signed with cargo companies Freight One and Freight Two to supply railroad cars through 2015.
