RCC is installing equipment from Kumera at Karabashmed13.02.2012 — News CHELYABINSK REGION. The facilities at Karabashmed, CJSC (a subsidiary of Russian Copper Company) that produce blister copper are getting equipment from the Finnish engineering and manufacturing group Kumera. RCC's press office told RusBusinessNews that three horizontal, 150-ton converters, a holding furnace to separate melted matte from slag, and an anode furnace will be installed at the company. Kumera currently equips most European and Asian metallurgical plants. The project at Karabashmed, CJSC is a massive undertaking for Russian Copper Company. RCC has invested about 5.2 million rubles since 2004 to modernize the company, including 3.7 billion rubles on measures to protect the environment. Thanks to modern technology, Karabashmed now emits six times less pollutants, although production has doubled. Approximately another seven billion rubles will be invested in the company's development by 2016. |
