VSMPO is involved in the creation of Boeing 737 MAX and A320 NEO

VSMPO-AVISMA Corporation, OJSC is taking part in a project by the aircraft manufacturers Boeing and Airbus to modernize their popular aircraft. There are plans to update the planes using new, more efficient engines developed by the French company Snecma.

Silvercrest aircraft engines will be installed in business jets, and new LEAP motors in Boeing 737 and A320 airliners. The updated models will be called Boeing 737 MAX and A320 NEO.

The corporation's press office told RusBusinessNews that VSMPO will begin to ship the titanium rolled rings and forgings for the new assembly in 2015. The Verkhnyaya Salda company has come to an agreement regarding specifications and delivery dates with the Belgian company Techspace Aero (a subsidiary of the Safran group) that will assemble the engines.
