RCC will invest 2.4 billion rubles in Karabashmed in 2012

In 2012, 1.8 billion rubles will be invested in the construction of the new sulfuric acid treatment shop at Karabashmed, CJSC (a member of the Russian Copper Company). The total amount of investment in the upgrading of the enterprise will be 2.4 billion rubles.

The Press Service of the RCC has informed RusBusinessNews that the work completed in April amounted to 97 million rubles: 61.4 million rubles were allocated for design development, construction and erection; 35.6 million rubles were spent on purchasing and installation of equipment. By today, Karabashmed has completed erection of a new cooling tower. The tower having the flow rate of 9.8 thousand cubic meters per hour is intended for cooling of water in the recirculation water supply systems of the sulfuric acid treatment shop.

After the new shop is put into operation, which is scheduled for 2014, the volume of processed smelter gases will reach 230 thousand cubic meters per hour. It will result in complete utilization of sulfurous anhydride when the output is increased by 1.5 times.
