RCC's Tominsky Project received public approval13.06.2012 — News CHELYABINSK REGION. The Russian Copper Company (RCC) conducted a public hearing on construction of a mining-and-processing integrated factory at the Tominsky copper and porphyry ore deposit. The hearing resulted in the approval of the project of the development of the mining and processing facilities in the Chelyabinsk District. The Tominsky mining-and-processing integrated factory will be RCC's second grassroot project in the South Urals after the Mikheyevsky mining-and-processing integrated factory. The representatives of RCC have informed RusBusinessNews that the Tominsky deposit is one of the largest copper deposits in Russia. The metal reserves total 1.5 million tons or 350 million tons of ore. The investment in the construction of the Tominsky GOK will amount to 22.24 billion rubles, while the estimated annual output is 28 million tons of ore (at the first stage - from 14 million tons). The commercial mining operations are scheduled for December 2014. The annual tax payments of the factory will total 766 million rubles. Elena Murzina, Minister for Economic Development of the Chelyabinsk Region, pointed out that the government of the Chelyabinsk Region has a very favorable attitude to the project, as it means RCC creates of new jobs and revenues to the local budget. |
