UVZ and Bombardier embark on manufacturing of tramcars16.07.2012 — News SVERDLOVSK REGION The Uralvagonzavod Research and Production Corporation, OJSC, and Bombardier, a Canadian machine-building company, are setting up a joint manufacture of cars for the subway trains and tramcars. The agreement entered into by and between the companies during the INNOPROM-2012 exhibition-forum was signed by Oleg Sienko, the General Director of Uralvagonzavod, and André Navarri, the President of Bombardier Transportation. The representatives of UVZ’s press-service have informed RusBusinessNews that the parties expect to reach 50% of production localization in Russia. The tramcar assembly operations are scheduled for 2013 at the facilities of the Ural Plant of Transport Machine-Building, OJSC, which specializes in manufacturing of this type of products. The plans for the first stage envisage the annual output up to 400 tramcars – based on the latest models of Bombardier. The manufacturing of cars for subway trains is scheduled for 2014. |
