Uralvagonzavod enterprise to produce thermal power plants with tank engines08.08.2012 — News OMSK REGION. The Design Bureau of Transport Machinery, OJSC in the Omsk region (a subsidiary of the Uralvagonzavod Research and Production Corporation, OJSC) is to begin the mass production of mobile, mini power plants. The electrical power supply known as the Vulkan, which uses a GTD-1250 gas turbine engine and is installed on the T-80U tank, will be able to generate up to 800 kilowatts of electricity and 1,500 kilowatts of thermal energy. The corporation’s press office told RusBusinessNews that the GTD-1250 is not currently in mass production, and thus warehouse inventory will be used to produce the mini power plants. These mobile thermal power plants that use both liquid and gas fuels are well suited for use in disaster zones and in the northern regions. |
