Farnborough-2012 brought VSMPO-AVISMA over a billion dollars' worth of contracts09.08.2012 — News SVERDLOVSK REGION. VSMPO-AVISMA Corporation, OJSC signed contracts worth more than one billion dollars at the Farnborough International Airshow, which was held in July, 2012 in the UK. The corporation’s press office told RusBusinessNews that among these was a ten-year contract with the Chinese company Shanghai Aircraft Manufacturing Co. Ltd. (SAMC) to supply titanium forgings for the COMAC C91 aircraft program, as well as a three-year contract with Perm Motors, OJSC. VSMPO is selling over 45 million dollars' worth of its products to Perm Motors, which is based in the Kama region. In addition, the Verkhnyaya Salda company has renewed its contract with the French firm Messier-Bugatti-Dowty to supply titanium forgings and chassis parts under the Boeing 787 program. A memorandum of understanding was signed with Aircelle (a division of the French company Safran), promising to provide titanium plates until 2020. The German firm Leistritz clarified its requirements for VSMPO regarding its order for the production of rods, and the French Forgital Group discussed the parameters of its order for 2013. The aviation consortium Airbus helped representatives from VSMPO pinpoint some key areas for future cooperation, particularly with regard to supplying more highly machined products. |
