The Sverdlovsk region is building an innovative economy

SVERDLOVSK REGION

By 2020, the share of the innovative products in the total volume of the manufacturing output in the Sverdlovsk region will be increased from the current 10% to 25%. This level of innovative development will place the region among the top five constituent entities in Russia.

The regional government told RusBusinessNews that within eight years over 456 thousand jobs will be created and updated to be highly productive. Almost a third of these positions will be in mining and metallurgical businesses, 140 thousand - in mechanical engineering, and another 40 thousand in the chemical and timber-processing industries.
