The transportation industry in the Sverdlovsk region is being deluged with investment19.12.2012 — News SVERDLOVSK REGION By 2020, 105.7 billion rubles will have been invested in the construction and repair of roads in the Sverdlovsk region. In particular, this will make it possible to complete the construction of the Ivdel (Sverdlovsk Region) – Khanty-Mansiysk (Yugra) highway, as well as several traffic interchanges in Ekaterinburg. The regional government told RusBusinessNews that these transformations will also affect the region's railways. There are plans to invest more than 125 billion rubles by 2030 to develop the railway junction in Ekaterinburg and the renovation of 23 rail stations is also anticipated. Koltsovo international airport is Russia's fifth busiest in terms of passenger traffic. By 2020, the number of travelers passing through the aviation gateway of Ekaterinburg will rise to 7.3 million – almost twice as many as today. |
