Czech Airlines Schedule Extra Flights to Ekaterinburg

Starting 28 April 2009 Czech Airlines added a fifth Prague - Ekaterinburg - Prague flight to the weekly schedule. The company considers performing flights on a daily basis.

As Irzhy Svoboda, Czech Airlines Director for Ekaterinburg and the Urals region, told RusBusinessNews, increasing the number of flights is based on growth assumptions. Czech Airlines forecasts an inflow of tourists and SME business people.

According to Mr. Svoboda, in 2008 the passenger traffic between Prague and Ekaterinburg has grown by 20% y.o.y. In Q1 2009, the traffic remained at the last year's January-March level. The airline forecasts that in 2009 the passenger traffic will not be falling. In 2010-2011, Prague - Ekaterinburg - Prague can become a daily flight.

Also on 28 April 2009 Czech Airlines started Prague - Novosibirsk - Prague flights. During the first season there will be two flights a week.
