Arab Ambassadors Get Acquainted with Sverdlovsk Oblast Industry28.04.2009 — News THE SVERDLOVSK OBLAST. A delegation of Ambassadors Extraordinary & Plenipotentiary to the Russian Federation from 9 Arabic countries arrived on a reconnaissance visit to the Sverdlovsk Oblast. The delegation includes heads of diplomatic missions from Bahrain, Lebanon, Egypt, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Algeria, Sudan, Morocco, and Iraq. The Arab diplomats were shown the internationally exported products of several major industrial enterprises. The Ural manufacturers see opportunities of exporting to the Middle East. The Ural Optical-Mechanical Plant PO FGUP presented medical instruments and light appliances, surveying and optoelectronic equipment. The Stroydormash company presented multi-purpose expendable drilling units. Avtomobily I Motory Urala (Automobiles and Motors of the Urals) ZAO presented construction equipment. The Sverdlovsk Oblast is ready to partner with Arab states in the oil and gas sector, in restoration and development of the railroad and transportation infrastructure, in irrigation and water facilities construction, in reconstruction of the infrastructure built by the USSR. As the regional government representatives informed RusBusinessNews, Algeria, which is a member of the Arabic States League, in 2008 ranked 20th among the Sverdlovsk Oblast trade partners, with the trade balance of 124 million U.S. Dollars, while Egypt ranked 30th, with the trade balance of 62 million U.S. Dollars. |
