New Ilyushin-96-400T Will Discover America with Engines from Perm

In May-June 2009 ZAO Air Company "Polet" will receive two Ilyushin-96-400T aircraft from the Voronezh Aircraft-Building Joint-Stock Company (VASO). The new wide-body cargo aircraft based on Ilyushin-96-300 can transport up to 92 tons of cargo along medium and long-distance transportation routes.

The aircraft is equipped with four PS-90-A1 engines made by the OAO Perm Engine Company (a part of the Perm Motors Group). A distinguishing feature of the new engine is low fuel consumption; the engine complies with the existing and contemplated international noise and emission requirements.

RusBusinessNews was informed that Polet will start running the aircraft in July-August 2009. These planes will transport cargo from the central part of Russia to Siberia and the Far East, and in the future to India, China, South America, and Europe.
