UVZ prepares for the premiere of the Terminator-2

At the Russia Arms EXPO 2013 Ninth International Exhibition of Arms, Military Equipment, and Ammunition, the Uralvagonzavod Research and Production Corporation will demonstrate for RusBusinessNews an upgraded tank-support combat vehicle that has earned the nickname The Terminator because of its firepower.

The corporation’s press office told RusBusinessNews that the BMPT-72, which was created on the basis of the T-72 tank, is different from the previous model in several ways. In particular, the Terminator-2 has an improved fire-control system and increased protection for the tower's combat module. The designers claim that the updated vehicle will make it possible to provide more effective fire protection for the tank and infantry in difficult geographical areas at any time of day.

There are plans for the premiere of the BMPT-72 to be held in the form of a multimedia show in a 900-sq.-meter presentation center that was specially built for the exhibition. Official delegations of foreign countries that possess the T-72 in their arsenal plan to attend. According to representatives from UVZ, the most massive tank of modern times can be quickly and at little expense transformed into the highly protected and well-armed Terminator-2.
