Ural Airlines Count on Ugra Passengers

Ural Airlines will compete with Utair on the Khanty-Mansiysk - Moscow - Khanty-Mansiysk route. The Ugra authorities are considering the new daily flight starting 13 May 2009 as the prospect for cutting the fare prices.

RusBusinessNews was informed by the regional Government that the Urals air carrier offers the rates 20-30% lower than those of Utair. The Ural Airlines are planning to launch scheduled flights from Khanty-Mansiysk to the south of Russia and destinations abroad this year.

According to the results of the January-April period, the passenger traffic of the Ural Airlines fell 9 % in comparison with the same period of the last year and amounted to 287 thousand passengers. The domestic flights sector, where demand has dropped by 20% (158 thousand passengers) has suffered the most.
