Uralvagonzavod to allocate 1.78 billion rubles to environmental projects06.03.2014 — News SVERDLOVSK REGION The main plant at the Uralvagonzavod Research and Production Corporation, OJSC will invest over 1.78 billion rubles in environmental protection in 2014, which is more than 30 times the cost of last year's environmental programs. The corporation's press office told RusBusinessNews that 16 different measures were carried out at Uralvagonzavod in 2013 to protect the environment, at a total cost of 54.2 million rubles. In particular, those funds were used to renovate waste treatment facilities and to install 33 SovPlym filtration units at stations for mechanized arc welding. As a result, in 2013 the business had to pay out 54.2% less than in 2013 for causing adverse effects on the environment.
