The Uralwagonzavod Corporation and PESA are to create a joint venture03.07.2014 — News SVERDLOVSK REGION During the INNOPROM 2014 exhibition, the Uralvagonzavod Research and Production Corporation, OJSC and Poland's PESA group intend to sign an agreement to establish a joint venture. It will be located in Russia and will be part of a program to manufacture modern tram cars. UVZ's press office told RusBusinessNews that currently the corporation is working with PESA to fulfill a contract to supply 120 low-floor trams for Moscow. At present, the cars are being built in Poland, but there are plans to move the production to Russia in the future - to the site of Ekaterinburg's Uraltransmash, OJSC (a subsidiary of Uralvagonzavod). The contract with the Moscow city government, worth 8.46 billion rubles, is for 120 three-section trams, with a capacity of 268 passengers. |
