VSMPO-AVISMA to supply titanium directly to France's Defontaine10.09.2014 — News SVERDLOVSK REGION The French firm Defontaine is interested in receiving direct shipments of titanium produced by the VSMPO-AVISMA Corporation, OJSC and plans to cut out its current intermediaries. In the near future Defontaine may place a ten-year order. The corporation's press office told RusBusinessNews that the titanium from the Urals will be used for parts for next-generation jet-propulsion engines. CFN International (a joint venture between General Electric and Snecma [Safran SA]) produces such engines for air transportation. Defontaine has developed and manufactured important components of parts for the automotive and aircraft industries since 1946. The company's primary customers are Snecma, Turbomeca, Microturbo, and GE.
