UMMC intends to build high-speed street-car line between Ekaterinburg and Verkhnyaya Pyshma

On April 16, 2015 the Ural Mining and Metallurgical Company and the Sverdlovsk Region signed the agreement for social and economic cooperation for 2015-2018. The agreement was signed by Sverdlovsk Regional Governor Yevgeny Kuivashev and UMMC General Director Andrei Kozitsyn.

The agreement addresses development of the municipal entities where subsidiaries of the holding company perform their operations. The list includes the Serov and Kirovgrad City Districts as well as such municipalities as Verkhnyaya Pyshma, Verkh Neivinsk, Revda, and Krasnouralsk. Financing will come from the regional and municipal treasuries; UMMC subsidiaries are also going to allocate funds.

The representatives of the UMMC Press Service have informed RusBusinessNews that building of the high-speed street-car line between Ekaterinburg and Verkhnyaya Pyshma is one of the most capital intensive projects. The design work will start in the near future. About 20 cars made by Russian manufacturers will be purchased for the new street-car line.
