Boeing approved VSMPO-AVISMA as its major supplier for new aircraft28.08.2015 — News

At the MAKS International Aviation Salon, Boeing and VSMPO-AVISMA announced that they had reached agreement regarding titanium forgings to be supplied for the new composite 777X wing.
The manufacturing of top-of-the-line aircraft will begin in 2017, as RusBusinessNews has been informed by the VSMPO Press Service.
Boeing 777X airliners are a new family of jumbo jets of the American corporation. Airliners will have innovative engines, composite wings and features used for the Dreamliner.
The cooperation between VSMPO and Boeing started in 1997. 6 years ago, the companies launched a joint venture - Ural Boeing Manufacturing (UBM) – where they have equal participatory interest. It is located in Verkhnyaya Salda. The factory does machining of forgings for high-tech Boeing 787-8 and 787-9 Dreamliner.
