The new titanium alloy of VSMPO-AVISMA wins recognition from the military

The VSMPO-AVISMA Corporation debuted successfully with its new VST2 titanium alloy at Russian Arms Expo-2015, which took place in Nizhny Tagil in September 2015.

The results of the five-year efforts of scientists and engineers of VSMPO-AVISMA were appreciated by military and civil specialists, the Press Service of the Corporation has informed RusBusinessNews.

In products for the military and industrial sector, VST2 demonstrated better ballistic properties than steel and traditional titanium alloys. Furthermore, the new alloy has a lower weight and price.

Armor vests with titanium plates made of the new alloy are lighter than their comparables by 20%, while parts of combat vehicles are lighter by 40%.
