Chelyabinsk Region approves expansion of Mikheevsky Mining and Processing Integrated Works14.11.2016 — News CHELYABINSK REGION The Russian Copper Company (RCC) held public hearings on expansion of the Mikheevsky Mining and Processing Integrated Works in the Chelyabinsk Region. The project was approved in its entirety. As RusBusinessNews has been informed by the RCC Press Service, nearly 300 people took part in the discussion, among them representatives of the Varnensky and Kartalinsky District administrations, directors of medical and educational institutions, representatives of general public. The attendees were introduced to the documentation of the project aimed to increase the annual output of the Mikheevsky Mining and Processing Integrated Works by 9 million tons of copper ore as well as to its environmental and industrial safety policies. Independent experts confirmed that the works’ operations complied with the environmental laws and did not cause damage to people’s health. The residents and local authorities spoke highly about the sizeable contribution of the Mikheevsky Mining and Processing Integrated Works to the social and economic growth of the districts, pointing out that it provided about 1,000 jobs. |
