SVERDLOVSK REGION
The Russian Copper Company (RCC) is planning to invest over 54 billion rubles - by 12% more than in 2019 – in development of its assets in Russia in 2020. The investment planned for Kazakhstan totals nearly 74 million US dollars, equal to the amount invested last year.
As RusBusinessNews has been informed by the RCC Press Service, the company is getting ready to develop the Malmyzhsky copper deposit in the Khabarovsk Territory and the Tarutinsky deposit in the Chelyabinsk Region. At present, RCC can increase its annual output of copper cathodes from 220 thousand tons to 310 thousand tons after the upgrading of Karabshmed and the copper electrolysis shop at the Kyshtym Copper Electrolytic Plant (KMEZ).
KMEZ is planning to start producing electrolytic copper foil for the high-tech electronic industry as well as lithium-ion batteries to reach the output of around 1.2 thousand tons a year. As a result, KMEZ will be able to meet the demand of the domestic market and to supply its products to foreign markets.
