RCC eliminates environmental damage accumulated over 20th century in Karabash

The Russian Copper Company (RCC JSC) is financing rehabilitation of sites of accumulated damage in Karabash; it is the most ambitious remediation project in Russia. In total, around 2 billion rubles will be allocated for remediation works at four sites, RusBusinessNews has been informed by the RCC Information Policy Department.

 

For many years, the Karabash nature has been adversely affected by the outdated copper-smelting facilities. In 2004, the Karabashmed plant joined the RCC Group. Since that time, the company has invested more than 30 billion rubles in upgrading and environmental safety improvement of the plant operations.

 

Since 2012, RCC has allocated more than 14 billion rubles for implementation of environmental projects in the areas of its operations.
