Ural Airlines reports first profit since pandemic16.08.2021 — News

Ural Airlines’ earnings for the period of January – June 2021 exceeded the levels reached in the same period of 2019 before the pandemic and totaled 40.2 billion rubles against 37 billion. The net profit reached 2.1 billion rubles, while two years ago the airline had reported a loss of 1.4 billion rubles.
As RusBusinessNews has been informed by the carrier’s Press Service, since the beginning of the year, the airline’s external debt burden has decreased by 3.9 billion rubles.
In January – June this year, Ural Airlines’ jetliners performed 27,814 flights (95% against 2019); the flight hours totaled 82.2 thousand hours (88%). The airline’s aircraft carried 3.759 million passengers (89%). Almost 25% of them traveled on international flights; based on the results of the first six months, Ural Airlines ranked second among the Russian air carriers in international air travel.
The airline was able to achieve successful results due to its comprehensive program aimed at reduction of expenses and continuous optimization of all the processes.
Ural Airlines ranks among the Russian leading airlines in passenger traffic volume. The career’s fleet has more than 50 Airbus jetliners (3 A320neos, 4 A321neos, 23 A320s, 17 A321s and 5 A319s).
