CHELYABINSK REGION
In its new copper electrolysis shop, KMEZ, JSC (a member of the Russian Copper Company Group) has completed the installation of the new MESCO robotic cathode stripping machine (Japan). When put into operation, the line equipped with nine state-of-the-art robots will be able to handle twice as many cathode plates as before.
As RusBusinessNews has been informed by RCC’s Information Policy Department, the machine will weigh cathodes, assess their quality, shape them as requested, pack and label them. Cathode plates will have individual QR codes to scan for further quality control. The machine needs only one operator.
The start-up and commissioning works are scheduled for the coming spring; phase I of the copper electrolysis shop is expected to be completed by the end of 2022.
