The head of the Ministry of Education of the Sverdlovsk Region was impressed by the VSMPO-AVISMA Perspective

Minister of Education and Youth Policy of the Sverdlovsk Region Yuri Biktuganov appreciates VSMPO-AVISMA Perspective Professional and Industrial Cluster. During his visit he participated in the Inzhenernye Subboty (Engineering Saturdays) Educational Project. More than 100 schoolchildren and students discussed the features and prospects of modern education with the official, and learned how to build a competent personal career track. Yuri Biktuganov shared the story of his career, which he had started off as a simple teacher, onto becoming a school headmaster and then head of the municipality's educational administration. Young people took the opportunity to ask the guest questions in an informal setting, with an eye to the future, RusBusinessNews reports.

 

"This is a serious breakthrough for Verkhnyaya Salda in terms of the relationship between the educational system and township-forming enterprise that invests financially in the development of our educational institutions. I am grateful to VSMPO-AVISMA's directors that they have managed to engage the interest of young people and fulfil all their responsibilities. The Professionalitet Project and the Perspective Professional and Industrial Cluster have already become the hallmark of the educational institution, the city and VSMPO-AVISMA. The residents of Salda have everything they need to study productively at home. This encourages them to stay in the city and find a prestigious and sought-after profession at the world's largest titanium production plant," said Yury Biktuganov, Minister of Education and Youth Policy of the Sverdlovsk Region.

"The company is interested in the development, training and subsequent employment of young people. We follow current trends in education and give young people all kinds of support. Since September 1, the Professionalitet Federal Project has been launched jointly with the Aviation and Metallurgical College in Verkhnyaya Salda, which allows you to learn a working speciality within a short time. We actively invite young specialists as well as applicants for admission and training under the unique program to the Aviation and Metallurgical College and UrFU Branch in Verkhnyaya Salda," emphasized Olga Furtatova, head of VSMPO-AVISMA's HR department.

 

The Minister also visited a new modern student residence building, which VSMPO-AVISMA will soon open for the students interested in further employment at the enterprise. Currently, the Corporation needs specialists in additive manufacturing, metal forming, process and production automation, specialists in the field of process simulation, power industry, electrical engineering, construction, as well as qualified workers: smelter, blacksmith, welder, miller, turner, program-controlled machine operator, inspector, lab assistant and others. The Engineering Saturdays, aimed at presenting advanced VSMPO-AVISMA production to schoolchildren, started in November 2022. During this time, Dmitry V. Osipov, CEO of VSMPO-AVISMA Corporation and directors of various areas like production, maintenance and repair, IT, science and technology and others spoke to the students.

 

The Perspective Professional and Industrial Cluster is aimed at vocational training and employment of minors during the summer vacations. In 2021-2022, 220 teenagers successfully completed training in engineering graphics, data management, design work, metalwork and wiring, translation and office administration. Since June 1, the students have been part of the company's team.
