Uralkali Received Tax Office Report On 2005-2006 Inspection

JSC Uralkali has been served the ruling of the Interregional Inspectorate of the Federal Tax Service (FTS) of Russia for largest tax payers No. 3 on imposing tax liabilities on the company. The company has been requested to pay taxes for the period of 2005-2006 in the amount of 613 million roubles, as well as a 121 million roubles fine and a 58 million roubles penalty. 

Uralkali representatives informed RusBusinessNews that about 604 million roubles out of this sum is the mineral extraction tax for October 2006 (tax period when the disaster at the potassium production Mine No. 1 had occurred). The company reckons that the conclusions of the tax authority are unsubstantiated; Uralkali is going to appeal the decision in accordance with the procedures stipulated by the law.
