The president of Boeing Commercial Airplanes paid a visit to his partners in the Urals20.09.2010 — News SVERDLOVSK REGION On September 18, 2010, the president of Boeing Commercial Airplanes, James Albaugh, visited the VSMPO-Avisma corporation. He arrived in the Sverdlovsk region along with Sergei Chemezov, the general director of the Rostekhnologiya group, after signing a contract for USD 3.7 billion at the Sochi Economic Forum for 50 Boeing 737 Next Generation aircraft to be produced in Russia, with an option to order an additional 35 jets. VSMPO-Avisma is Boeing's primary supplier of titanium parts. Under their contract, the Urals company will supply products to manufacture the Boeing 787, 777, and 737 until 2015. The corporation told RusBusinessNews that Boeing and VSMPO-Avisma opened a joint venture called Ural Boeing Manufacturing in Verkhnyaya Salda in July of 2009.
