UGMK recovers the pre-crisis copper powder production02.11.2010 — News SVERDLOVSK REGION In 2010, the Ural Mining and Metallurgical Company (UGMK) intends to reach the pre-crisis level of copper powder production. The output is anticipated to total more than 6,300 tons, exceeding 1.6 times the performance of 2009. This year, over the January-September period, Uralelektromed JSC, a subsidiary of UGMK, produced 4,451 tons of powder. Best sellers are fine grades of powder used by automobile and chemical industrial consumers. Their output has already exceeded the before-the-crisis level. The UGMK Press-Service informed "RusBusinessNews" that in 2011 the company will complete the renovation of the production line for fine grades of powder, increasing its productivity to 170-200 tons a month. The two other production lines will also be upgraded to meet the production requirements. Uralelektromed JSC is the only Russian company and one of the largest companies in the world, producing electrolytic copper powder. Export accounts for more than a half of the output of the factory offering more than 30 grades of copper powder. |
