Ural Airlines has flown its 1.5 millionth passenger18.11.2010 — News SVERDLOVSK REGION. Ural Airlines passed a milestone in 2010, carrying 1.5 million passengers. On November 18th, this landmark customer was booked on a flight from Ekaterinburg to St. Petersburg. Ural Airlines is currently one of the top ten major Russian airlines for safety and volume of traffic. The Ekaterinburg-based airline operates domestic and international flights from Ekaterinburg, Moscow, Novosibirsk, Kazan, Krasnodar, Irkutsk, and Samara. Twelve leased A320s and two A321s form the basis of its fleet. The airline's press office informed RusBusinessNews that Ural Airlines plans to buy seven new Airbus medium-haul aircraft. The airline carried 1,497,433 passengers in 2009. According to estimates by Ural Airlines senior managers, passenger traffic this year has increased by 25%.
