Ugra Fish Hatchery Will Fill Siberian Rivers with Muksun and Sturgeon13.04.2009 — News UGRA. OOO Ugorsky Ribovodny Zavod (Ugra Fish Hatchery) is scheduled to start operation at the end of August. 40 million roubles are needed to launch the facility and do the work during the initial period. Further 200 million roubles is needed for the reconstruction of the fish receiving stations and the purchase of live-fish carriers, the company informed RusBusinessNews. The assembly of fish breading pools of various sizes and oxygen generators purchased in Germany will start in late April. Each year the Ugra Fish Hatchery plans to breed up to 35 million young muksun fish, 2.8 million young whitefish and 2.5 million of sturgeon. After further maturing in flood ponds and fish receiving stations the fry will be released into the rivers of the Ob-Irtysh basin. In the future the hatchery may start to breed trout and peled. Vnesheconombank might take part in the financing of the commercial fish farming projects in Ugra. On 1 April 2009 Aleksandr Filipenko, the Governor of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug and Vladimir Dmitriev, the Head of the Bank, signed a cooperation agreement, which states fish farming and construction as priorities. |
