Turkey Interested in Perm Krai Potato Crop13.04.2009 — News THE PERM KRAI. A Turkish starch production plant may come to the Perm Krai. Foreign investors were interested in the dynamic increase in the potato production volumes in Prikamye (lands near the Kama river), the regional government informed RusBusinessNews. On 10 April 2009 the Representaive of the Confederation of Businessmen and Industrialists of Turkey in Moscow, Cuneyt Guctekin discussed the future of cooperation with the leaders of the Krai Ministry of Agriculture. In the next four years the Perm Krai plans to triple the potato production volumes from 42.9 to 137.2 thousand tons. 585 million roubles will be allocated to develop the regional Potato programme. Potato crop yield will double by 2012 and reach 30.22 tons per hectare. |
