UMMC obtained control of the nickel deposit in the Voronezh Region25.05.2012 — News VORONEZH REGION. The Ural Mining and Metallurgical Company obtained control of the copper-and-nickel deposits - Yelanskoye and Yelkinskoye. The Mednogorsk Copper and Sulfur Integrated Factory, LLC a partner of the Ural Mining and Metallurgical Company, won the tender for the ore prospecting and mining license. The representatives of the Federal Agency for Subsoil Use have informed RusBusinessNews that the resources of the Yelanskoye deposit consist of 54.1 thousand tons of nickel and 5.6 thousand tons of copper by category R1, whereas the resources estimated by category R2 are composed of 351.6 thousand tons of nickel and 40.3 thousand tons of copper. The resources of the Yelkinskoye deposit consist of 393.8 thousand tons of nickel and 54.6 tons of copper when estimated by category R2. The deposits also have commercial reserves of cobalt. Having received the license for deposit development, the company is to build a mining and processing facility in the Voronezh Region by 2016. |
