Uralelectromed is increasing the output of feedstock for the electrolysis shop12.07.2012 — News SVERDLOVSK REGION. Uralelectromed, OJSC (a member of the Ural Mining and Metallurgical Company – UGMK) has commissioned the fifth anode baking furnace at the copper electrolysis shop. Due to this, the company was able to bring into balance the output of copper anodes and their conversion into refined copper. The representatives of the UGMK Press-Service have informed RusBusinessNews that after the first stage of the new electrolysis shop had been launched into operation at the beginning of 2012, Uralelectromed was able to increase the annual output of refined copper to 500 thousand tons. The commissioning of the fifth furnace at the smelter shop resulted in a nearly 25% increase in the annual output of copper anodes, reaching 570 thousand tons. The new furnace and the anode casting wheel cost 280 million rubles.
