World’s Leading Ophthalmologists Coming to Ekaterinburg

On 27-29 April, 2009, Ekaterinburg will host V Euro-Asian Conference on Ophthalmology (EACO). More than 700 specialists from Russia, UK, USA, France, Italy, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Switzerland, Sweden, Germany, and the CIS countries will discuss new trends in ophthalmosurgery.

EACO has been organised by the Ekaterinburg branch of IRTC Eye Microsurgery back in 1998, now it is one of the world recognized platforms to exchange methods successfully approved for treatment practices. This year the first Russian symposium on application of anaesthesia in ophthalmosurgery will be a part of the conference programme.

Organisers informed RusBusinessNews that the day before the EACO opening prominent Russian and French ophthalmologists will give operation theatre presentations of the procedures for cataract, glaucoma and vitrectomy in the Ekaterinburg clinic. Christo Takhchidi, the Director General of the S. N. Fyodorov IRTC Eye Microsurgery will lead this work.

The Ekaterinburg branch of IRTC Eye Microsurgery is one of the leading Russian ophthalmology clinics. Over 2 million patients have been consulted at the clinic in the last 20 years. The ophthalmologists of the clinic carry out over 200 procedures of different degree of complexity daily.
