Sibneftegaz Starts Production at New Yamal Field

Production has begun at the Pyreinoye gas condensate field in the Purovski district. When the production reaches the full capacity the field will give Sibneftegaz two billion cubic metres of gas annually.

The company informed RusBusinessNews that 10 production wells had been drilled at the field, the integrated gas processing facility had already been constructed, and the 33 kilometre long pipeline had been built to connect to the Urengoy - Chelyabinsk gas pipeline system.

38% of Russian gas and 7% of oil is produced in the Purovski district. 22 companies working in 76 fields were producing hydrocarbons in 2008 in this district of Yamal. The total of 236.3 billion cubic metres of gas and 25.6 million tons of oil has been produced. Total reserves of OAO Sibneftegaz amount to more than 400 billion cubic metres of gas. OAO Gazprombank owns the controlling interest in the company.
