Uralvagonzavod is promoting the T-90 on Latin American markets

The Uralvagonzavod Research and Production Corporation, OJSC presented its updated T-90S tank at the SITDEF 2013 Defense Technology Exhibition, which opened in Lima on May 15, 2013.

This presentation of new Russian military equipment is of vital importance in that region. The Peruvian army plans to completely renovate its tank fleet and is currently in the process of selecting the country that will supply the new machinery. That Latin American republic is expected to purchase between 120 and 170 modern main battle tanks to replace the Russian-made T-55s currently in service.

Uralvagonzavod's press office told RusBusinessNews that the Peruvian military has long been interested in the T-90S. In terms of price to quality, the Russian tank is one of the best in the world. Ricardo Moncada Novoa, the commanding general of the Peruvian Army, closely scrutinized the capabilities of the T-90S tank during his visit to SITDEF 2013, examining the tank inside and out.

When the exhibition ends, the equipment will be given to the 18th Armored Brigade of the Peruvian army to be tested.
