The Beatles' Monument will be Opened in Ekaterinburg

On 23 May, 2009 the Beatles' monument will be officially unveiled in Ekaterinburg. Pete Shotton and Len Garry, participants of The Quarry Men, the Liverpool group which afterwards became the Beatles, will come to the official opening.

The capital of the Sverdlovsk Oblast is the only city in Russia, where the monument has been devoted to the Liverpool quartet. Metallic composition depicts the silhouettes of the group's participants on the backdrop of a brick wall, placed in the centre of the City on the bank of the river Iset. First the City authorities were against the project, but finally they have retreated under the pressure of the Lennon's fans.

The day before the unveiling the First Eurasian Festival "The Beatles on the Border" will be held. RusBusinessNews was informed in the Urals Beatles Club that the famous Russian musicians and actors will take part in the Festival.
