Urals Federal District Plans Second Presentation In Vienna21.05.2009 — News THE SVERDLOVSK OBLAST. In the autumn 2009 Ekaterinburg might be hosting the sessions of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation between Austria and Russia and the Russian-Austrian Business Council. A statement to that effect was made following the visit of Martin Vukovich, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Austria to Russia, to the Sverdlovsk oblast on 20-21May. During the meeting with the Nikolay Vinnichenko, the Plenipotentiary Envoy of the Russian President in the Urals Federal District, the Austrian diplomat discussed the possibility of another presentation of the potential of the Urals Federal District in Vienna. The first one was held in Austria's capital in June 2002. Mr. Vukovich informed RusBusinessNews that the trade balance between Austria and Russia in 2008 reached a record-breaking 5.5 billion Euro; due of the crisis, however, in the current year it may fall by 25%. Austrian investments in Russia currently exceed 2 billion Euro. |
