Russian Military Plant Will Keep German Newborns Warm22.05.2009 — News THE SVERDLOVSK OBLAST. Urals-produced baby heater for newborns may be supplied to German hospitals in 2009. Following the presentation at an international congress of paediatricians and neonatologists in Berlin, the Ural Optical and Mechanical Plant will be sending a batch of prototype devices to Germany. The heater is a simplified version of the incubator for prematurely born and weak newborns. Unlike stationary hospital incubators it can be used even at home. The Urals company is the third producer of such neonatal equipment in Europe. At the same time, heaters from Britain and Sweden are 40-60% more expensive. Plant representatives told RusBusinessNews that the device will be specially customised for German consumers. If it is a success in German hospitals, the Urals neonatal equipment will get a chance to get a foothold in the European market. The Ural Optical and Mechanical Plant is currently well-known internationally for its military products used in aviation. |
