Ekaterinburg Wages are Higher than Russia’s26.05.2009 — News THE SVERDLOVSK OBLAST. Ekaterinburg remains the leader among 11 largest Russian cities (except Moscow and St. Petersburg) in terms of consumer market size. In 2008 it exceeded 359 billion roubles, i.e. 1.5 times more than in Ufa that has taken the second place. The capital city of the Sverdlovsk Oblast surpasses the country's largest cities in terms of average wage amount. Last year they reached 22,627 roubles. Novosibirsk and Perm are more than 3,000 roubles behind Ekaterinburg. Moreover, in 2008 the average wages in Russia slightly exceeded 17,000 roubles. The city administration informed RusBusinessNews that Ekaterinburg has retained the first place in terms of large and medium companies' fixed capital investments. In 2008 they amounted to 70.4 billion roubles. Kazan, with its 64.8 billion roubles of investments, is running up. |
